Gentlemen:

Thanks for the effort yesterday, Sunday, August 1, 2004. And the conversation regarding the current and future issues at the facility. Special THANKS to Dennis & Tom for the amicable resolution.

The HAM Radio Station room is an excellent example of what we want the observatory to look like as we clear, clean and reorder the various assets here. Great Job! Let's continue to move the agenda in the adjacent rooms as we discussed. The removal of the clutter and/or junk from the McGregor Tower was a excellent first step. I will be removing the various materials as I promised today (in fact some has already disappeared).

What other methods/measures should be taken to undertake the continued removal and would someone take the responsibility for same.

Electronics Room adjacent to the HAM Radio Station room (Things to Do)
-- from Dave: get rid of the junk! Organize the rest of it.

McGregor Tower Room (Things to Do)
-- from Dave: more removal of old monitors, etc. Clear out the enclosed room, clear out the area by the vacuum chamber.

First Tower Observatory (Things to Do)
-- from Dave: clear out the main floor. Also, the leaky roof worries me but I have no idea what it needs. That tower has to be the most fragile of the 3 and in the most need of attention.

Please let me know what your thoughts might be.

From Dave: apparently there are environmental concerns that disallow the use of a dumpster. So this will have to be a piecemeal effort. Maybe we all need to be educated in the Home Depot disposal program so we can each take stuff with us every time we visit?

Again thanks for the initiative.

Best,

jim
